Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology is one of the public universities in Kenya and has a strong focus on technology. JKUAT is located 35km North-East of Nairobi on the Nairobi Thika Highway. It is only 10kms from Thika town.

Following a successful bid for funding of Post Graduate training in Science and Engineering programs by African Development Bank (AfDB), through the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology, JKUAT has been mandated to train academic staff in Public Universities, Public Technical Training institutions, Line Ministries and State Corporations for capacity building.

JKUAT is therefore inviting applications for Scholarships from suitably qualified applicants, currently academic staff members in Public Universities and Public Technical Training Institutions, for the Masters and PhD programs shown below. The upper age limit is 45 years for Master Degree Programmes and 50 years for PhD programmes.

The scholarship will cover Tuition and Research fees only and does not cover subsistence or upkeep allowances.
The short listing will be on merit and only the qualified applicants will be considered as per the criteria provided below:

7. MSc. Construction Management A holder of at least second class Honors (Upper Division), Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management or a related field from an institution recognized by the University Senate.

8. MSc. Sustainable Urban Development

Option I:
A holder of at least second class Honors (Upper Division), Bachelor of Science degree in
Architecture, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Environmental Planning and Management, Urban Design, Urban and Regional Planning, Real Estate Survey or a related field from an institution recognized by the University Senate.

Option II:
A holder of at least second class Honors (Upper Division), Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, Sociology or a related field from an institution recognized by the University senate and have worked in Local Authority/ Counties, Non-Governmental Organizations and other institutions dealing with urban issues for at least 2 years or a related field from an institution recognized by the University Senate.
9. MSc. Environmental Planning and Development
A holder of at least second class Honors (Upper Division), Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Construction Management, Environmental planning, Urban and regional planning, Geography, Engineering, Ecology, Environmental sciences, Social sciences or related field from an institution recognized by the University Senate.

10. MSc. Information Technology A holder of at least second class Honors (Upper
