Zetech University Appoints New Registrar of Academics

Zetech University has appointed Peter Osumba as the new Registrar Academics, effective October 2018.

Mr. Osumba joined the University as a Business lecturer 9 years ago, under the then Zetech College brand. He rose through the ranks to serve as the JKUAT programmes coordinator, before taking up the post of Marketing Manager. Thereafter, he was appointed Deputy Registrar, in charge of university enrollment and advancement.

In his new role, Mr. Osumba will collaborate with the Management team to implementing strategies to: enhance delivery of quality service, enrich customer service, streamline processes and ensure the University aligns its operations to current trends in the education sector. He will also spearhead inspections, registrations, and renewal of registrations of the university with relevant research bodies, professional organizations and government institutions.

A team player and results-oriented manager, Mr. Osumba is an alumnus of the University of Nairobi where he pursued an MBA in Operations Management and a Bachelor of Education Arts in Accounting and Mathematics. He also holds a Diploma in Leadership and Governance and a Certified Public Accountant 1 qualification, training that has empowered him to successfully execute his managerial tasks. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Additionally, he is an alumnus of the Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies (DIES) leadership programme under DAAD, an initiative that trains university managers on quality and leadership for impact in higher education.

Excited about his new role, Mr. Osumba expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and looks forward to support from staff and students in executing his new role.
