The biggest night in music, the 2017 MTV VMA brought some of the hottest celebs to the red carpet. The MTV Video Music Awards held on Sunday night in California was hosted by pop sensation Katy Perry and featured performances by a range of artists including Fifth Harmony (who took this opportunity to throw shade at former member Camilla Cabello), Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, P!nk and Kendrick Lamar who opened the show performing “DNA” and “Humble” off his latest album among others.
Not only has Lorde made the ultimate return to our music playlists, but she’s been slaying the fashion circuit, too. The singer stunned in Monique Lhullier last night and it was just gorgeous.
Host Katy Perry kept it cool for her first appearance at tonight’s VMAs in an ultra-white bodycon gown by French designer Stephanie Rolland.
She performed her brand new song “Swish Swish” off the album ‘Witness’ alongside Nicki Minaj. She didn’t win any of the awards she was nominated for which is understandable seeing as her album didn’t do too well.
Per usual, fashion industry favorite and Black-ishstar Yara Shahidi was lookin’ good and feelin’ fine tonight in a dijon yellow Zimmermann dress that’s both awards show and Fashion Week perfect.
She has been rocking mini dresses like nobody’s business lately, and this Nicolas Jebran look has us rethink the concept of everywhere-embroidery.
It’s all in the details when it comes to Hailee Steinfeld’s silver Atelier Versace dress.
Just wow… Vanessa Hudgens looks fabulous in her edgy gown. She never disappoints.
She was even more unforgettable as she suffered a nip slip while on stage. The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker was wearing a glamorous light pink strapless dress and a matching boa when the wardrobe malfunction went down.

Though she handled it like a pro — after the camera cut to two women in the audience with their jaws on the floor — it was definitely an awkward moment for all of those involved. When the camera cut back to Cardi B to finish her introduction, she had pulled up her dress and held her hand over her breast to make sure it stayed there.
Her red carpet look was fierce too.
21 Savage and Amber Rose
Amber Rose and 21 Savage who are now a couple showed up together looking better than usual. For once, rapper 21 Savage looked somewhat clean in his all-white well-fitting suit. Amber Rose too wore the perfect dress for her body type, it shows off all her curves & assets wonderfully.
21 Savage was understandably not nominated for any awards.
Nicki Minaj wore a pink latex jumpsuit which is honestly such a Nicki thing to do. The cameltoe was a bit disturbing to see but I guess she was okay with it. The colour looked great on her, she knows that clearly since she’s worn pink since the beginning of her career when she wore that Barbie chain.
She did not win the award for Best Choreography she was nominated for with Ariana Grande for the “Side to Side” video.
Teyana Taylor channeled 1995 MTV VMAs Janet Jackson for her look. It’s difficult to go wrong with old school and Ms. Taylor looked stunning. She pulled it off well I’m sure Ms. Jackson would be proud. Her baby with Iman Shumpert, Junie looked adorable too.
She coincidentally won the award for Best Choreography in Kanye West’s “Fade” music video which Janet Jackson won too on the night she wore the same outfit.
Ludacris and his wife Eudoxie showed up to the show looking gorgeous together as always. The dress Eudoxie wore was simple and fit her well. It’s hard to go wrong with black so she made the right choice. Luda looks like such a gentleman in his suit two. They both look lovely.
Kendrick Lamar looked very odd. I’ve taken some time to try and understand this outfit but I can’t. The trousers are trying to look like ‘don’t touch my shoes’ and the shoes they are exposing themselves aren’t great either. Maybe he struggles to dress his short frame.
He won Best Hip Hop. His video for “Humble” won Video of the Year, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Art Direction & Best Visual Effects.
Demi Lovato’s outfit was semi good, semi bad. The top part looks beautiful except in the boob area that looks a bit awkward. The pants part looks strange, the design isn’t too good. Her hair and makeup makes up for what the outfit lacks though.
She lost out ‘Song of the Summer’ to Lil Uzi Vert’s “XO Tour Life”.
Remy Ma’s outfit is the hottest mess I’ve ever seen. She should really invest in a stylist; she’s always stepping out looking unattractive. There’s a way you can show skin without looking ratchet, maybe she can learn from her rival Nicki Minaj. Even the shoes are terrible. The makeup is slightly ok, nothing exciting.
Straight oput of the 90s this kid kept his humorous side clear to see as he color blocked with green and blue. The checked bow-tie added for a nice accessory.
