The campaign mood is starting to heat up in Daystar University. With a new group of interested students declaring their intentions if given chance to lead the next government. But in Daystar, there is more than just being a good persuader, an influencer and a great orator when contesting for the student government. Here are some of the top five requirements for anyone contesting for any government position.
- MUST BE A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN.
Daystar University continues to be one of the Christian institutions that uphold strong Christian values from the management to the social lives of the students. Therefore, the school views it as important to have a leader with the same belief and values. The contestants of the different positions are to declare that they are born again Christians and the school gets confirmation from how they carry themselves in school from the other students and their lecturers.
- MUST HAVE BEEN A STUDENT FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS.
For one to lead anywhere, he/she must have served at that particular place for a credible amount of time. Proving that he/she has learnt the ways of the people and has spotted what needs to remained, be improved or dismissed. And in Daystar, the case is similar. You have to be at least in your second year or third for the school to have your record as a reference point during the vetting process.
- MUST HAVE ATTAINED A CUMULATIVE GPA OF AT LEAST 2.7.
Academic excellence is key to any learning institution. And in Daystar it is more relevant if you want to join the student government. For one to be a leader then one should be able to lead with a good example. Hence if you are excellent in your academic performance you will be able to encourage other students and give strategies on how they can better their grades.
- MUST HAVE A GOOD RECORD OF CHAPEL ATTENDANCE.
For a long time, Daystar University has upheld the culture of chapel attendance with the intention of keeping the Christianity religion at the foe-front of the schools’ reputation through this practice. The school is able to keep records of those who attended the chapel services by providing signing sheets that the students indicate their names, year of study and the course they are taking. Therefore keeping track of the 75% attendance required for graduation. Those contesting for the government positions are expected to have good records of their chapel attendance because it shows that their way of life is guided by Christ and the knowledge of them knowing the importance of obeying the authority.
- MUST BE CLEAN OF ANY INDISCIPLINE CASES.
Discipline is important especially when it comes to leadership. Therefore, any student in Daystar who is interested in joining the student government should ensure that they have no indiscipline cases in their school records. With this, then the administration and students will be assured of great conduct even within the student government leadership.
