5 Things We Need to Learn From Sauti Sol and Nyashinski New Song ‘Tujiangalie’

There is a reason as to why Sauti Sol and Nyashinski are some of the most celebrated artists in the country. They all make music that covers life from different angles in the society and whenever the band and the rapper come together, they come up with nothing but good music.

Once again they just released a new song together which I do think should have a lot of people thinking about their actions in the society. Here are 5 things I think we can learn from the now trending song;

As a country we need to start doing right by those who fought for our freedom

The song starts with Sauti Sol’s Bien talking about a letter from those who fought for the country’s freedom like Jaramogi, Kenyatta and Tom Mboya asking whether the country is doing fine and Bien says he told them that the country is currently a disaster. For them to risk their lives the way they did you would assume they really loved the country and wouldn’t be pleased to see it at its current disastrous state. We all need to come together and change things for the better.

We need to be aware of fake pastors

Savara’s second verse mainly cautions us about the rise of fake pastors who are out to enrich themselves while their followers remain struggling in. He talks about corrupt politicians being given first priorities in churches. Like he says, the end is here and what we are now experiencing is what the bible talks about in revelation.

We shouldn’t let politics divide us in the future

The third verse from the group’s Chimano talks about how the last election saw us all divided as a country, money from politician saw tribes turn against each other. Some of these scenarios are still so fresh in our minds and I agree with Chimano. Deaths related to politics should not be experienced again. We all need to learn from that and avoid such mistakes in the future.

We need to learn to handle things ‘offline’

The last verse comes from Nyashinski. Nyashinski talks about how people nowadays prefer to solve matters online particularly on twitter. He suggests people learning to solve issues the old school way, physically.

While things are fast changing and twitter actually does solve issues at times, some things are better solved when people physically agree to have a one on one talk you know, the handshake didn’t take place online. Two mature people had to come together and face each other and that’s how an agreement was reached.

We need to change our country before it’s too late

The songs hook pretty much reminds us that as a country we in a worse position than we were a few years back. We need to take our time and meditate on where we are headed as a country, we need to move quick and fix
