Authorities believe a tycoon wanted for questioning after a police raid on his business premises in Thika is in Zambia.
Police said they believed Humphrey Kariuki traveled last month to Zambia, where he was reported to have business interests.
Detectives led by Inspector General Joseph Boinet and senior Kenya Revenue Authority officials made what was said was a dazzling find: an estimated 21million counterfeit excise stamps and 312,000 liters
of illicit products.
Mr. Kariuki’s African Spirits Limited is now under Police watch and by last evening the detectives were still looking for him.
African Spirits is only a small part of Mr. Kariuki’s multi-billion empire.
