Akili Dada, has been working endlessly to ensure the above quote is put into practice. In the words of philanthropist and queen of all media Oprah Winfrey:

“I’ve come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that’s as unique as a fingerprint and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.”

It is an award winning leadership incubator that is targeting young ladies in society by empowering them, through leadership forums, training, workshops, financial support and mentorship.  It has seen a living proof of prominent women such as Dr. Wanjiru Rutenberg who founded Akili Dada.

The current workshop is set for August 31st to September 2nd whose theme is Emerging Leaders Workshop For Aspiring Student Leaders.

Requirements to Join Akili Dada

The requirements are as easy as:

Are you passionate about seeing change in your university?

Are you vying for a student government position at your university or institution of higher learning?

Are you a young woman aged between 18 and 25 years old?

Then this is the workshop for you.  Akili Dada is located Riara Road (Off Ngong Road), 2nd floor Riara Corporate Suites. Come all and experience empowerment and endorsement at a firsthand level. The best part about this workshop is that, not only do you gain experience but also free of charge.

With an almost only male filled leaders in society, a norm that has been there for years, this could be a stepping stone for campus ladies to up their game and finally have those high positions and forget the stereotypical positions of treasury and secretary and eye the bigger positions.

Maybe SONU could have a woman chair and a male vice?
