Terror has again stricken Northern Kenya for the umpteenth time with at least 14 casualties confirmed dead and another 10 injured. The County Commissioner for Mandera County Mr. Alex Ole Nkoyo confirmed the attack took place this morning at around 1 am in Soko Mbuzi village, on the outskirts of Mandera town.
According to reports from the locals, the Al Shabaab militia struck late on the night when the villagers were sleeping. It is alleged that the attackers planted grenades on the doors of households. They also hurled a petrol bomb outside the tents where people were sleeping before escaping into the nearby bushes just before the police arrived.
The police and Kenya Red Cross Society are currently on ground. No arrest has been made yet but police are currently in pursuit of the suspects.
