Growing up, my siblings and I would always rush to the horoscope section in newspapers to see our predictions. I know that this was also the case for many of us. But then at that point I never really put too much thought into it.

On my quest to find enlightenment, I have found myself exploring different ideologies. In addition, astrology is gaining traction on social media and in many films, movies and series. Where it is termed as a collective awakening, now that many people are actually getting into it and learning it. I am not here to shove beliefs down anybody’s throat. Just to create a conversation.
How were our ancestors able to tell time? How were our ancestors able to tell seasons? How is it that there were clans known as rainmakers while others were healers etc.? How was that determined? These among so many other questions have led to the exploration of astrology.
When I talk about our ancestors, I mean the civilizations that lived in ancient Africa. If you are to look through history, astrology is quite demonized in Africa. And referred to as witchcraft. But this is quite contrary in the Western countries where it is studied as a Social Science.
So, is astrology one of the many ‘tools’ that were robbed from ancient Africa for the betterment of the colonizers. Or is it witchcraft? However, how would it be witchcraft if they get to put it to practice yet were conditioned to disparage it?
