Kenya isn’t the only country that has had the horrific experience of terror attacks in a university. Earlier yesterday, Bacha Khan University in northern Pakistan was attacked by gunmen. Based on a Reuters report, the gunmen used the thick fog that had coated the wintry morning to strike the university.
A chemistry lecturer was shot and 50 others injured during the ordeal. Police tried to fight off the gunmen in the fog and managed to rescue many students. The school trains about 3000 students most who were reported to be in class when the firing of gunshots began.
The gunmen had taken the opportunity to strike when the university held a recital taking place and started firing in classrooms and hostels. About 19 people are reported dead after the attack.
