The 2018 Fifa World Cup games have been going on since early last month till now and of course different people have had different preferences when it comes to where they watch the games from.

While there are those prefer to get their surprises from the comfort of their homes now that this year’s games have been full of surprises, there are some who would rather watch the games in pubs with a couple of friends and strangers probably so they can comfort each other when things become unbearable.

On that note I did some research on some of the most frequented restaurants/pubs during this world cup season by students from different institutions and here is what I got ;

Club Tribeka

No automatic alt text available.

This has been mostly frequented by students from University of Nairobi who prefer to share drinks during the games. A number of them confessed to the role drinks like Hunters choice and captain Morgan played during this world cup season.

However some of them say they wish shisha was still legal and openly available as it would better the experience.

Ace bar & Kitchen and Club Lugunaz

Most students from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) have become regular customers at both Ace bar &Kitchen and Club Lugunaz for those few days. Those whom I spoke to say they love to have beers on the table and of course some ‘Makali’. Some chose to bring some miraa with them to keep them awake during the matches. Both pubs are located in Juja.

Bogani/Bali’s best

Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA) students too did have a choice and they went for Bogani/Bali’s best both restaurants located in Karen. Just like many of the rest they preferred sharing drinks together and to be precise, Vodka brands like Jameson and Smirnoff.

Club Pine and Diplomats

Some students from Daystar University made Club Pine their home over that time since they were already regulars there while majority moved to Diplomats now that it’s the newest club around the area.

For them any drink is fine a couple of some cigarettes.

Club Laviva

This has been the choice for many Kenyatta University students. Their package was simple, Makali, Mogoka and a lot of ‘smoke’ (Cigarettes). The club is located in Ruiru.
