Who is Brooklyn Vyolesa?
Um, am basically a Hip Hop head, former Radio presenter at Ghetto Radio and a Nokia Brand Ambassador.
You said you are a Hip Hop head, what have you done for Kenyan Hip Hop?
Am actually Hip Hop. As a presenter at Ghetto Radio, I did support local underground artistes by playing their tracks indiscriminately. I also worked closely with Octopizzo and Khaligraph…them days.
Do you take sides in the Octo Vs Khaligraph beef?
I really can’t comment on that…hehe
Ok. Ok. One is a lyricist and one is a businessman…this makes it hard to take sides you know…
You are in a group called Kalahari, what is it all about?
Um…Kalahari is basically a Hip Hop Camp with guys of a common interest which is basically the love for Hip Hop as a culture and art. We share a lot as a family.
Do you do rap?
Not really. Lemme just say am an Hip Hop activist but am planning to release a track soon. Girl power!
Hip Hop aside, tell us more about your project?
I just launched a fashion magazine, THICK CURVES SENSATION, which mainly focuses on plus size community, their lifestyles, modelling and other related stuff.
That’s a good cause there, so which campo did you chop at?
Just some campus in the states, hehe
Had you studied in Kenya, where would you have studied?
USIU. Definitely. Not because it’s associated with the ballers but for the culture variety; students from several countries and stuff. They also have superb facilities that aid in good education.
Final word to campus comrades?
First, put God first in everything you do regardless of the potential you think you have and second, always work without fear of failure.
Thanks a lot for your time Vyolesa
Anytime, have a fab day
