We all knew that the Bugatti Chiron is an incredibly fast car, but today the company posted a video showcasing it shatter the previous speed record for 0-400 km/h (249 mph).

The 1,479bhp Chiron made history with F1 star Juan-Pablo Montaya behind the wheel.

The goal was to see how quick the automobile can reach 0 to 400 km/h and then back to a full stop.

The vehicle went from 0 to 400km/h (248.55mph) and back to 0 in 41.96 seconds of time, while traveling a distance of 3.112km (1.933 miles).

This just proved that the Bugatti Chiron is the fastest accelerating street-legal car in the world.

Here’s what he had to say about the experience:

“Of course, the Chiron is a super sports car that requires your full attention when you are behind the wheel. At the same time, it gave me such a feeling of security and reliability that I was entirely relaxed and really enjoyed myself during my two days with the car.”
