Campuses With Cool Kids

(Last Updated On: February 25, 2016)

USIU comes first on the list for being one of the coolest campuses around, starting from where the school is located; next to safari park as we all know is one of the classiest restaurants in Nairobi and the pockets have to be full to afford a lunch date there, they usually hang out at natives since it’s their kalocal but they normally ball at westys aqua lounge, their hostels are like way affordable for the international students but the bathrooms are a no go zone, and very uncool for the institution not to give the local students same priority as the international students, but we forgive them for From scholarship funds and partnering with one of the biggest multinational co-operations in the country Safaricom on various projects ,the dopest events the school normally has from artistes the likes of demarco jetting in for a concert in the school grounds to the fresher’s bash at carnivore, they definitely take the crown for the coolest campus with cool kids.

From the kindergartens to the campuses Riara group of schools has established its name in the education sector in Kenya with their leading in extracurricular activities. rich Kenyan culture through carefully chosen class activities.. The outdoor facilities allow for students to master their talents in different field like art and sports, its makes the list as one of the coolest campuses as its basketball team not only does well in the country but represents the school in championship outside the country , Riara bucks as they are called have gone undefeated in the campus league for a while, respect for this rich kids as they partners with Nairobi City County in their monthly Corporate Social Responsibility and lets all agree that makes them cool.

Daystar University is by far the coolest, with alumni students bagging all jobs in the market, especially in the media , The university is known for producing top journalists in the country like Larry Madowo, Johnson Mwakazi, Waihiga Mwaura, Lizz Ntojira and comedian Eric Omondi just naming a few, lest we forget you get to have one of the most gifted musician as you lecturer on a one on one basis , Helen mtawali , the class is another project fame waiting to happen, you can find the students hanging out at syokimau for their preferred poison for those at the main campus in Athi River , or at Tamasha Hurligham for the students in the Nairobi campus.

When I think of CUEA I think sister act movie as its popularly known is cool for one thing, most lecturers are nuns and I find it cool being taught by a nun, its just like being taught by a doctor in uniform or a police in uniform, its kind of sexy for my twisted mind and I digress, anyway they have one of the best cafeteria, and advisable to own your own car when enrolling to the school cos psv’s is shitty in that area, you just don’t get to school on time , their girls are pretty, their boys are okay, and you’ll find them hanging out at galleria , either for dates or just roaming the liquor section at Nakumatt, yes I’ve seen a couple, and another thing their dress code is ridiculous, u will not enter the gates of CUEA in anything slutty.

Strathmore has taken the lead as one of the best business institution in the country, with the vast knowledge of business, finance and it , Strathmore has been able to offer their students the capabilities for them to start their own successful business after graduating, its cool because their dress code is superb, businessesy as my colleagues call it, from the lecturers to the students, it feels a little bit too serious but it does the job, the administration argues, its preparing the sharpness not only for the mind but also for the body, they never hangout since they are clearly too busy trying to take over their parents company hehehe

With the best of equipment’s for media study available in the country, it being the oldest mass communication school, its not hard to figure out why its cool, ranging from the cameras worth millions and their film projects directed by the students winning awards at Kalasha international film festival and their annual culture week which is the most anticipated event that showcases various cultures, and not forgetting the schools alumni Shaffie Weru Radio Africa, John Karani Kiss TZ, Linus Kaikai – Managing Editor, NTV, Ferdinand Omondi – Senior Reporter, KTN ,Catherine Kasavuli – Royal Media Services, Sophie Ikenye – Presenter/Producer, BBC World News Focus On Africa, Dennis Itumbi – Director, Digital, New Media & Diaspora,Dennis Onsarigo – Investigative Reporter, KTN, the list is endless.

So they get to chill all day, and only attend classes in the evening, this gives them enough time to dress up and look fly when they step in school, they get to turn up during the day unlike their engineering counterparts they are more relaxed and can actually have fun, they hang out at lifestyles liquor section as they wait for their classes or next to KBC as they throw down them Jamey shots going for 80 shillings, they are down for whatever and that’s why they cool.
