Mohammed Bana’s Background
Since childhood he has loved art, colors and fabrics and with his obsession of simple elegance and classic designs is now actually designing fashionable clothes.
He is a Kenyan born and brought up in Muslim ethnicity and at the age of 20 year old he swiftly penetrated the luxury market, registering his company and designer name
DALIYAH DESIGNS, which means grape vine in Arabic.
His inspirations’ come from the fresh and unpretentious style of urban youth, fellow designers, family who’s support is always with him and the beauty of the world.
Mohammed, under brand name BANA is currently one of the members of the fashion community to take a public stand in against AIDS and empower women.
All these have rapidly forged his reputation as a designer acclaimed by the press and international fashion buyers alike. Riding the wave of success, he now designs hand bags for men and women, does interior decor, and event management.
His Kikoi hand bags are the best example of a true fusion of modern African wear portraying his creations in blending of modern designs with vast colors.
High Profile Work
In 2011 he showcased an indo Afrofusion of sarees on CITIZEN TV on the program known as THE FASHION SHOW.
2012 showcased at the largest fashion platform in East and Central Africa. Swahili fashion week and dressed miss world Kenya 2012 and Nairobi fashion week in 2013.
East Africa fashion week 2014 and 2015 and high end photo shoot in Kenya and abroad.
