Top Celebrities Who Won The Pulse Music Video Awards

The Standard media group in collaboration with the pulse magazine has always done a good job when it comes to appreciating Kenyan music. The award gala was held at the village market that is always held every year that goes by the name Pulse Music Video Awards (PMVA).

There are different categories of such awards and the categories include, best choreography of the year, best breakthrough video of the year, best group video of the year, best video director of the year, best female video of the year, best male video of the year and the viewers choice of the year.

The MC for the day was Chero, entertainment journalist at the Standard media group and she hosts a show by the name Str8up that airs every Saturday.

The artiste’s that got the award include:

  1. Jabede

Jabede is a gospel singer whose type of music is more of dancing to Jesus. Some of his known music include Odi dance, Vimbada which is a collaboration with Moji Short Baba and Shoot Satan.

He won in the category of the best choreography of the year and the song that was nominated in this category was Vimbada. a song that sings and listened to by many.

2. Ethic

This is a group of four young men who came together to do secular songs their audience being the youth in their age bracket but ever since their breakthrough, they are mostly known for their hit song Lamba lolo.

They won the best breakthrough of the year and the song in that category was position. A collaboration with the Kansoul that has left many dancing to the new hit.

3. Elani

Elani is a group of three, two ladies and a man. they are best known for their hit songs such as Mahindi, Milele, Darling featuring Chameleon and their latest jam Heartbeat.

They won the best group video of the year. The song that won in this category was Heartbeat.

4. Richie G

He is a Kenyan video director and a musician at the same time. He won the award in the category of the best director of the year battling it out with X Antonio.

The song that was nominated for this position was wakati wa Mungu featuring Paul Clement and Guardian Angel.

5. Gin Ideal

Gin is an outgoing lady known for her song rede remix featuring Wyre the love child. Among her other songs include, kuna kitu and her latest jam Shuga.

The juicy lady won the award of the best female video of the year, taking the Pulse Music Video award from our known Kenyan musician lady Kush Tracey. The song that won in this category was Gin Ideal’s Shuga.

4. King Kaka

With the new album out dubbed Eastlando royalty, things seem to be moving so swiftly for our own Kenyan rapper King Kaka. he won two different awards. He won the best male video of the year and the song that won in the category is the newest jam that everyone is singing to, Dundaing and the jam also won in the viewers choice of the year.

This category was so stiff, the competition being between artistes like Naiboi, Khaligraph Jones and Otile Brown.

6. Nikita Kering

This up and coming 16 year old young lady with the voice of an angel won the category for new artist of the year.

7. Fahim For you

This well dressed, supa dupa hypeman took the award for the best choreographer of the year.

 8. Hasnii Shah

Nominated for her role in Khaligraph Jones video, Ngori, she took the award home for video vixen of the year.

Kudos to those that voted and those who won different awards. continue making Kenyan music grow in the industry.
