’18 Hours’ is an upcoming Kenyan movie based on the true story of a Kenyan man who survived for 18 hours in an ambulance thanks to the help of a rookie paramedic after a car accident.

The movie is scheduled for release in October 2017. The film is directed is written & directed by Njue Kevin of Rocque Pictures and stars Nick Ndeda as Zach, Brian Ogola as Mark and Susan Wanjiru as Sabina. Mali actress Brenda Wairimu co-produces the movie.

Alex Madaga, the victim, was involved in a car crash on the 5th of October in 2015 along Waiyaki Way. The ambulance where Brian Ochieng Odhiambo did his best to help the patient went to Nairobi Womens’ hospital and Kenyatta National Hospital where there were not enough beds to admit another patient so they had no choice but to remain in the ambulance. Unfortunately, the patient couldn’t breathe on his own anymore and passed away.
