Celebrated boxing champion Conjestina Achieng  has completely faded of  the national limelight in the the recent years despite becoming a household name following her enormous exploits in the boxing scene.

Conjestina was the first African woman to hold an international boxing title after beating Uganda’s Fiona Tugume to clinch the then vacant WIBF Middleweight title.

But all these seems to be lost in the woods with reports now showing the one-time national pride languishing in a life of poverty in her rural upcountry home in Siaya County. Several pictures have been doing rounds on social media showing the former boxer intoxicated with alcohol and now there is a national outcry with people especially on social media clamoring for the government and public alike to support the woman who once put the country on the global scene.

However last weekend women rep Rachel Shebesh and Conjestina showed up for the ‘Boxing Under the Stars’ tournament that happened last weekend at the Carnivore Simba Salon restaurant. This leaving hopes for many that Conjestina’s interest in boxing again.
