The senate impeached Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu on Wednesday night after having two days hearing. The political sides of the house came to display.
The house voted out Waititu with 28 senators voting for his impeachment against 11 votes. This came to be after all the three counts were read to the senators in the house.
Ferdinand Waititu was impeached on three accounts of abuse of office. One thing that made many to kick him out is the stolen land that he took from a Widow in Thika. The land was repossessed back and given back to the widow.
This was for the first time the senate and Kenya in general have made remarkable changes inspite the politics of the country. Now his fate lies in the courts of law to either arrest him and charge him with the charges of abuse of office.
Dr. James Nyoro is expected to be sworn in before 2.00 p.m. He has been a deputy governor who ahs been on the logger heads with his boss. His hopes of being handed over the mantle yesterday didn’t move well but in the end he is expecting today.
The Kiambu people seems to be at peace when they had Waititu is going home. They now expect the services in the county to rendered to them without delay. The sitting judge is already in the county ready to do his work.
