Okoth Obado has been released on ksh 5 million cash bail, he has been in remand for like a month now due to the accusation of the murder of a Rongo university student Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby. He was charged with this murder on September 24th.
Obado’s co-accused Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero were denied freedom and were taken back to remand in industrial area until the pre-trial conference that will be held on February 14th 2019.
Judge Jessie Lessit granted Obado bail these conditions,
“The accused shall not go anywhere within 20km of Migori County boundary and the court has the liberty to cancel your bail at any time,” the judge ruled.
The judge further ordered that Obado should not talk about the case outside the court room and should never miss any court sessions or interfere with the case in any way. The judge’s reason for denying bail for Michael Oyamo and Obiero was because the two were likely to abscond court sessions and cause public disturbance if freed.
