Former nominated senator Joy Gwendo has today been sentenced to two years jail term after being found guilty of fraud.

The former law maker had pleaded guilty to abuse of office charges in August 2018 before chief magistrate Douglas Ogoti.

She failed to honor a plea bargain she entered into with the state to settle a 1.7 million debt and abuse of office.

Joy has been found to be dishonest and has been ordered to be jailed without the option of a fine.
