Comrades can finally smile after University lectures strike agreed to end their three month strike that saw learning paralyzed in most public universities.
Universities Academic Staff Union (UASU) says the decision was made for the sake of the students as the government declined to make an additional counter offer to the earlier 1.75 percent pay rise.

The talks that led to the calling of the strike were led Hellen Apiyo, a conciliator from the ministry of labor.
The lectures will push forward with the implementation of the 2017-2021 CBA counter proposal and among other agreements, the lectures will not be victimized for the strike which had been declared illegal by the court and they will receive full benefits.
Learning is expected to continue in the affected institutions as from next Monday.
