Fire Disrupts Normal Operations At The JKIA

There was a fire break out at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport last night that disrupted operations for hours as engines fought to contain it.

This has led to the closure of Terminal 1C as the Kenya Airports Authority confirmed that the flames that broke out at 11.44pm yesterday  were caused by a baggage-belt-system malfunction.

The fire rocked operations at check-inn counters 7 and 8 and the  airports authority today said flight operations at the affected arrival and departure centre had been moved to Terminal 1B.
