Flagged areas due to insecurity

A Facebook post by a nurse at Kenyatta National Hospital has been circulating on social media platforms.

The Kenyatta National Hospital ER has been receiving an average of 4-7 mugging victims the past two weeks. The victims are stabbed or shot. With some of them surviving with long term injuries, others in ICU while the rest succumb to death.

In addition, the thugs seem to target young people especially students. They rob you in broad daylight and they are not afraid to do it. You are advised to steer clear of the following areas:

  • The CBD (Archives), River Road, Fig Tree Area and KCB Offices
  • Drive-In flyover up until KCA
  • KCA Underpass and Total Exit
  • Kipande Road and Globe Roundabout
  • ABC Place and Kangemi along Waiyaki Way
  • Naivas Allsops along Thika Superhighway

Video footage of somebody being robbed near Garden City.

In conclusion, avoid walking alone and/or late in the highlighted areas. Keep safe.
