The deadline was today. All transport means were to cease use of currency payment. However, it’s typical for Kenyans to avoid or postpone deadlines. Whether it will fail or succeed remains a mystery.

We took the liberty to compile which cards you can use and how you can apply or recharge one.

  •  Pepea card

This is to replace the Abiria card that failed to take off. It is a collaboration between KCB, KBS and Mastercard. In fact it was launched today ( December 1st) at Kencom. The support website is not yet up. So details on recharging are not clear. You can pick your Pepea card at any KCB branch near you.
