Gina-DinGina Din-Kariuki, founder and chair of the communications agency Gina Din Corporate Communications,
yesterday was at the table forum in USIU. Varcity got a grip of her and this is what she had to say.

Who has had the greatest impact in your life so far, and why?

My children have really inspired me because they are so focused, and have enabled me to meet so many young people. And I really believe that what we are doing today is meeting tomorrow’s leaders today.

What is your message to young inspiring entrepreneurs?

Hang on to your dreams, because some of us have these big dreams but they get discouraged along the way. But if you hold your vision, you can make many things happen.

What would you advise students to do to realize their full potential?

Love what you do and in so doing, you can achieve your full potential; because then you’ll be on the right track.

Anything else you enjoy doing besides work as a PR specialist?

I love working with people, bringing them together. So being able to link high potentials with high achievers is really special.

Any hobbies?

I read, work out, do yoga and travel a lot…yea.

What is the craziest thing you ever did when in campus?

I did a lot of crazy things in campus, pretty crazy actually so I understand crazy. I was a bad girl! But I think it’s good to do crazy, experience everything so that you don’t one day feel like, I wish I did this or that. It’s good to experience everything in life because that’s what life’s about. Be adventurous!

What advice would you give to students in campus?

Be focused, have a vision and hang on to it. For me, it wasn’t my brains that got me to where I am today, it was my vision.   What has attributed to your success so far?

I have had great mentors, critics and a great support system around me.  I was lucky to have that.
