The United States International University-Africa held its annual campus awards on Thursday, 30th July at the institution’s auditorium. The dress code was blue and white and all students who came through sought to express themselves through elegance and style.
If you ever wanted glamour in Kenyan Universities then USIU is the best place to find this. The girls did not shy away from letting their hemlines rise and a little bare leg show through. There was plenty of looks and the word elegance would be an understatement as both genders sought to give meaning to the university being international.
In what was the most breathtaking moment of the evening, designer Zahra Mariam from M. Oliech foundation had models showcasing some of her best designs and collections. With a blend of Africa and modernity her models strutted the runway exuding confidence much to the cheers of the delightful audience.
Alumni Madtraxx, as he is popularly known in the entertainment circles was the star-guest and performed alongside Mejja in what was undoubtedly the most glamourous night in the university’s calendar. Other performances included Spoken word by Brian Lutta, One Voice choir, Shuga.
There were some light moments at the auditorium as the MC, who is also the current Miss USIU-Africa took to the stage to dance to some Nigerian moves.
This lady knew just how to match up the dress code colours. Her white jumpsuit was perfect and her blue painted fingernails were cute! we do however have to question the fit of the jumpsuit, from the back, it did not look so good.
This young lady looked cute in her maroon short dress. Although her dress didn’t match the dress code, she looked amazing all the same.
This duo rocked the runway in their all black ensemble. From the dress to the jumpsuit, they were ready for the award night.
Edgy is the word we can use to describe this young ladies look. From the leather jacket to the black lipstick, she really wanted to push the boundaries. Although she is edgy, we think the whole look together doesn’t work well.
Her sheer gold and black fitted kaftan dress looked elegant and classy. It accentuated her curves in all the right places.
