GOOD NEWS!! Kenyan Passport Application Goes Digital!!

Foreigners visiting Kenya are now required to acquire their visas from an online portal. Effective from the 1st of September 2015, foreigners who require a Kenyan visa to travel to Kenya will have to apply for a visa online.

All applications ie passport will have to be made via the eCitizen website, ecitizen.go.ke and thereafter payments will be made via Debit or credit card.

The visa application process will take about two working days and will be subject to rules of the Kenyan immigration department. Previously visitors were given visas upon arrival in the country.

This is part of the Kenyan government pre-election campaign manifesto in which they promised to digitize government offered services in a bid to make them less cumbersome and more efficient.
