Grammy’s 2016: The Big Wins

The 58th annual Grammy awards had a pleasant line up of nominees.  Musicians familiar to our television screens made the cut. Some even bagged several awards this year.

See if your favorite artist went home with a grammy;

Kendrick Lamar– Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, and Best Rap Song

Record of the Year went to “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars as well as Best performing group.

Best Pop Vocal Album of the Year went to Taylor Swift for “1989.” She also won Best Video of the Year for “Bad Blood” featuring Kendrick Lamar.


 The Weekend-  “Earned it” won Best R&B Performance and ”Beauty Behind the Madness” won Best Urban Contemporary Album

Justin Bieber too won his first Grammy in the Category of Best Dance Recording for the song “Where are you now” with Skrillex and Diplo.

Ed Sheeran walked away with his first-ever Grammy, winning song of the year for “Thinking Out Loud.” The song also won Best Pop Solo Performance.

Meghan Trainor won New Artist of the Year

Alabama Shakes bagged three awards for Best Rock Performance, Best Rock song and Best Alternative Music Album “Sound and Color”

Kirk Franklin won Best Gospel Performance/Song with “Wanna Be Happy?”

Best Contemporary Christian Music/Performance went to Francesca Battistelli’s ”If I were Honest”

Toby Mac was awarded Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for his “This is not a test”

Best Reggae Album went to Morgan Heritage’s “Strictly Roots”

Angelique Kidjo’s “Sings” won Best World Music Album
