Harambee Stars loses 2 To Nil to Algeria in AFCON 2019

The much anticipated match that went down yesterday. Harambee Stars kicked off with a loss to Algeria. This was the first time the stars were playing after 15 years in AFCON. Algeria is fighting to become champions in the Group C.

Kenya had a nervous start into the match, struggling to string passes together unlike their opponents who made inroads to their area at will to quench their goal hunger.

Algeria’s efforts to break the deadlock bore fruit in the 32nd minute after Dennis Odhiambo scythed down a goal-bound striker in the box forcing the referee to point to the spot.

The middle fielders in the Kenyan wing failed to pass the ball to the lead striker Michael Olunga that made him to search for the ball most of the time. He was later substituted by Eric Ouma.

Kenya needs to start practicing as they learnt most of their mistakes in the AFCON cup. We wish the National Team will improve in future. Algeria got their two goals from Riyad Marhez and Baghdad Bounedjah both in the first half.

Whats your view on yesterday’s match?
