The highly anticipated koroga festival 27th edition was definetely one for the books. The organizers really went all out on this one making sure everything runs smoothly from the entrance to the general event experience. The event set up was very creative and captivating adding the spice to the fans experience. The planners had a superb photobooth at the back that came in handy while capturing moments at the event.
The day 1 of the festival saw several young city revelers, attracted majorly by the days line up stream into the venue. The large crowd went ahead to prove just how the new wave of Kenyan music popularly known as “genge tone” has been widely accepted by revelers and young Kenyans in general. The event set of quite early this time and by 5PM the venue was already packed.
The first act of the day 1, the decimators did not fail to thrill their funs with their club bangers. The “drinks na mayenx” hit makers also took their fans down through memory lane with one of their members “boneye: performing some P unit classics and the fans really enjoyed the vibe. The next act Zzero sufuri did the crowd justice bringing his full energy to the stage, performing his major hit “Zimenishika” and other street anthems. The dagoreti bred artist made sure his session was fully hyped to the end leaving his fans asking for more. The headlining act sailors gang took the stage by storm performing their major hit songs “pekejeng”,” queen bee machine” and “wainame”. The “wamlambez” hit makers kept their energy level at the top, receiving the same energy back from their fans.
The day 2 of the event was rather chilled, attracting a more mature crowd. This just shows how diverse Koroga festival has become, considering both the young and older generation. Wyre the love child was the first act to grace the koroga day 2 stage. He entertained his fans performing his hits “nakupenda pia”, “Kingston girl” and the classic “Kenyan boy, Kenyan girl”. The next act on stage was the legendary Redsan who had everyone dancing to his club bangers “shoulder back”, “badda dan most” and “whine fi mi”. Finally, the koroga festival 27th edition major headlining act took to the stage giving a thrilling performance to the revelers who were singing along to his captivating lyrics word by word. Alpha blondy performed his major hits “cocody rocky” and “Jerusalem” among many other classics.
The Koroga festival managed to live up to its expectations, providing the fans with a wonderful experience in general. The festival also managed to give the young upcoming talents in Kenya a major platform to showcase their musical prowess. The 27th edition fo the koroga festival most definitely did not disappoint.
