“International Men’s Day is observed on an annual basis by persons from all walks of life, who support the ongoing effort to improve lives, heal scarred hearts, seek solutions to social problems, mend troubled minds, reform the social outcasts and uplift the dysfunctional.
The theme for International Men’s Day 2019 is: “Making a Difference for Men and Boys”.
Warwick Marsh, coordinator of internationalmensday.co.uk, explained the inspiration behind this year’s chosen theme.
“We want to promote the need to value men and boys and help people make practical improvements in men and boy’s health and well-being,” he said.
“International Men’s Day encourages men to lead by example. Boys need positive male role models. Our broader community also needs positive male role models. This is the best way to create a fair and safe society which allows everyone the opportunity to flourish.”
International Men’s Day coincides with Movember, which involves men growing their facial hair in an effort to promote conversations about men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
As we celebrated the Men’s Day, let’s all inculcate the values of manhood upon the men in the society. This should be taught on to all men of all generation to embrace their manhood fully.
