It just started with a handshake and now the friendship has been extended. After the famous handshake between President Uhuru and Opposition leader Raila Odinga, the country has undergone changes.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has now appointed the former Vice President to spearhead peace in Sudan. The ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the appointment of the former VP on July 2,2019.
The appointment came during a two-day state visit by South Sudan’s president Salva Kiir who was hosted by his Kenyan counterpart at state House, Nairobi.
During a state banquet on Monday, Uhuru appealed to the leadership of South Sudan to consolidate the peace dividend to accelerate the country’s social and economic growth.
The appointment has been viewed to be due to the spirit of handshake. How will the handshake effect continue to play….
