Kenya Power customers who use the prepaid electricity token systems will be unable to access the service for several hours next week.
A notice from the company said the move is to allow the electricity distributor to migrate data to a new hardware system.
“During this period customers will be unable to purchase electricity tokens in our banking halls, prepaid paybill number 888880 and via all other prepaid vending channels,” Kenya Power said in a statement on Friday.
The exercise is expected to affect operations between Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday April, 10.
Specific times are from Tuesday 11pm to Wednesday 6pm.
Kenya Power has urged its customers to buy electricity tokens in advance to avoid any inconveniences.
