The students have moved to court and filed a case to bar the closure of the institution satellite campus in Kisumu. The students are said to be challenging the closure as to have been done through unclear circumstances. They had to face the huge losses that come with an institution’s closure and tis was even extended to the staff members who will have to move to other institutions.
In a letter signed by the Director of Kisii University – Kisumu Campus, Dr. Stephen Oluoch directed students to join other campuses like Migori, Kisii, Nairobi, Kericho and Eldoret.
The institution that held a capacity of 1600 students was shut down last week.
However, the high court in Kisumu, Lady Justice Tripsisa Cherere declined to grant orders to stop the shutting down of the campus.
