The Font Fashion Festival finally went down this week at the Kenyatta University Amphitheatre. An initiative of the office of Ms. Kenyatta University in conjunction with the Smile Child initiative, the event was held as an avenue of using fashion to raise awareness about child abuse.

Many student designers got the chance to showcase their designs to the packed audience. Between each showcase were speeches representatives from various groups that are working towards creating awareness about this issue of child abuse who also urged the audience to join in on their initiatives.

I plan for it to be a long-term project whereby I’ll use fashion as the catalyst to raising awareness and tackle child abuse. Through the project, we’ll be conducting an annual fashion event whereby designers and models will be coming together and use the platform to showcase their designs and the models showcasing their talents.”

With the DJ Sneep on the decks and MC Don the Black on the mic, and Clef & Bandana band in the house, the concert came to life.
