Lawyers Set To Protest Against Disobedience Of Court

Lawyers still plan on going ahead with their planned protests even after calling off their boycott yesterday. Lawyers have publicly expressed their displeasure with the way Miguna Miguna’s case (a fellow lawyer) was handled last week.

The self-proclaimed NRM General was deported to Canada last week against the order given by the court to produce him in court. This portrayed defiance of court orders by the executive something that didn’t sit well with the lawyers.

LSK president, Isaac Okero had on Saturday said that Lawyers across the country would keep away from court sessions except the election petitions but called the boycott off later on Sunday siting preparation for the boycott as the reason for the call off.

Following the disobedience of the court orders, the Yellow ribbon campaign was also born, a campaign that will see lawyers wear yellow ribbons to express their displeasure with the way the government handled the case.
