The County government of Lamu has warned lazy, irresponsible and those students whose performance is inconsistent that they risk not getting bursaries.

Lamu MCAs have taken action in their hands and have said they will not sit back and watch county government’s money spent on paying school fees for students performing poorly despite getting the rare bursary assistance.

This year, the county set aside Sh127 million to cater for bursaries for students in secondary schools, colleges and universities and this means that for the students to get the bursaries, they have to perform well in school and prove to the county government that they are worthy of getting the bursaries.

The county government also announced that all students who scored over 300 marks in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam last year will get sponsorship.
