LG is set to unveil it’s flagship phone for 2017on February 26th at MWC 2017, the LG G6. The South Korean’s firm’s new release will be taking over from a more question questionable predecessor, the LG G5 which didn’t realize expected sales considering the featured extras like two rear cameras and an accessory slot that allowed you to modify the hardware.

It is still unclear when we’ll see the phone on store shelves, but according to a statement from LG, it should be “in the very near future”. In the mean time, all tech nerds and general phone lovers can do is enjoy specifications leaks, and I have just that!

The South Korean company has been busy creating hype around the LG G6, and so far has revealed details about Full Vision Display,Quad DAC support, dust and water resistance, reliability, and UX 6.0. They offer a teaser on likely features in one of their promo videos too.

We may also know how the new LG will look like thanks to high quality image leaks of the designs.

The 18:9 aspect ratio also the phone is expected to come with will make it longer than most smartphone screens, which means it will be ideal for split-screen apps and movie playback. Even better, the G6 will come preloaded with a Square Camera feature which will divide the 18:9 display into two identical perfect squares that will allow users to shoot image as well as review them in the adjacent window.

The South Korean consumer electronics giant also teased that the G6’s camera will offer a 125-degree wide-angle view at the back that it says is the “most similar to a human eye’s field of view.” The G6 will be featuring a better secondary camera at the back compared to its previous high-end siblings, like the LG G5. Both the smartphones came with an 8-megapixel secondary rear camera sporting a 135-degree wide-angle lens. Further, LG confirms that the front camera on the G6 will sport a 100-degree wide-angle lens. Taking selfies keeps getting better by the day.

We’ll have to wait to hear more on the battery life and other features after the launch. Hopefully it has a metallic finish that doesn’t look like the disappointing one on the G5 that looked and felt plastic.
