Song: Panda Refix
Artistes: Slim B X Chris Ericko
Genre: Hip Hop
So Slim hasn’t really got broads in Atlanta and we don’t know about his X6 Phantom, but this guy sure knows how to “panda”. It is the Panda refix and Slim B together with Chris Ericko know their spanners too well to miss to fix the panda track.
The refix retains the hip and smooth flow of the original hit song, but the distinction on setting is clearly illustrated as you can immediately see the Nairobi in it with fast-moving matatus, the Kenyan gangsta style of a gang of shaggy dreadlocks and black attire sited in front of a shanty block.
Slim B starts off with a heavy attitude in Luo, “Omera!! Onge gimi wacho na to ionge kata swag…” and later raps with more conviction in English at the beginning of the second verse, talks about being born in the hood, the struggle in the streets and the heroic breakthrough.
Even though you know your Disiigner’s Panda so well, this one comes off as a more thought off track because it eludes the drugs praise in original Panda track and speaks directly to its immediate Kenyan audience.
The video quality is great, however the lyrics fall short of the mega original hit Panda!
If you loved Panda, you should definitely check out this refix, Kenyan version.
