Commuters had a hard time travelling to their different destinations on this morning after public transport crew went on strike following the killing of a matatu driver under unclear circumstances in Ngong.

The deceased is said to have met his death after being taken to a police station by a manager to one of the Saccos for breaking a side mirror belonging to one of the vehicles. According to the angry protesters, the matatu driver was beaten to death following the matter.

The protesters had blocked roads in the area stating that the police had been taking matters into their own hands extorting and mishandling them. They called on CS Fred Matiang’i to come to their aid as they no longer feel safe with some of their colleagues having gone missing under unclear circumstances.
