George Ngari  a 26 Year old graduate in Economics from Kenyatta University is currently earning more than Ksh 100,000  a month from what he says ended his job searching.

He learnt how to make clean charcoal from sawdust and wheat straws and this was the start of it all.  From this he makes briquettes and sells to corporate bodies in his hometown, Narok.

“I got the idea on internet in an article written by a soldier,’’ He says.

He sells 50 Kg bag of charcoal at Sh.500, and a 2Kg container at Sh 20 for those who cannot afford a full sack, a full sack goes for KSh 800 In retail.

George sells the charcoal to the residents of Narok but also has attracted wholesale clients from lodges and camps. Among his clients are  the Sawela lodge in Naivasha, Sarova hotels (Nairobi and Nakuru).

His eco-friendly charcoal has earned him the partnership of National Environmental Trust Fund that trains him on finances and national exhibitions.

George is focused on growing the business and not looking for employment in another firm.
