It is a dull morning for Machakos governor Alfred Mutua as his election has now been nullified by the court of Appeal.

Mutua’s Competitor Wavinya Ndeti went to court challenging his August win where he won before she appealed at the High court. The High Court nullified his election stating the results used to declare him the winner could not be verified and therefore, they failed the constitutional test.

The Machakos governor has however said he will be challenging the decision at the Supreme Court but in the meantime made it clear that he will not leave the office until the court says otherwise.

Wavinya Ndeti on the other hand was happy with the court’s decision and has welcomed Mutua’s thoughts of moving to the Supreme court.
