Since the 2017 fire tragedy that saw 10 students die and 50 Others injured, this is the second most disturbing incident at Moi Girls High School.
Moi Girls High School in Nairobi is trending for all the wrong reasons yet again. It is alleged that a Form two student was raped on Friday night. The Form Two student received treatment at the Nairobi Women Hospital before being referred to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for more tests.
This has left many questions unanswered including whether the school follows the strict rules by Education ministry on the safety of students in learning institutions.
Accompanied by ministry officials, Education CS Amina Mohammed ordered the closure of the school for one week to allow room for more investigations. She went further to confirm that the said student was indeed assaulted.
Speaking to Citizen TV reporters on Sunday Morning, students brought into the limelight that cases to do with sexual harassment were often brushed off by the school administration even when the girls sought for help from them.
