Moi University medical students will have to stay without their lectures for some time as they downed their tools today. They did strike due to unpaid allowances.

“We officially started the strike today. We have stopped giving our services at the Moi University College of Health Sciences. We issued a one-week notice to both the university vice chancellor and MTRH CEO before we downed our tools,”

Dr. Ishmael Aiyabei, the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists, and Dentists Union branch secretary told the Nation by phone on Monday.

Their major issue that all doctors have been paid their allowances except those in universities. This has made them to down their tools till further notice. The students are likely to lose a lot of time as the strikes commence.
