Movie Review: Matt Damon, The Martian

(Last Updated On: October 16, 2015)

During a manned mission to mars, astronaut Mark Watney {Matt Damon} is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney survives and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. with meager supplies, he must draw upon his spirit and do everything in his power to signal to earth that he is alive, back home NAS is working tirelessly to bring the Martian home, while his crew-mates concurrently plot a daring if not impossible, rescue mission as they fight with the guilt of leaving him behind. As these stories unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney’s safe return.

The Martian might be one of the smartest picture you will see all year, similar to 2013 gravity, with Matt Damon’s wit and scientific knowledge that made him ingenious enough to produce water and water his crops for survival it comes close to asking was this based on a true story, until you remember it’s a mission in mars, quite thrilling and you will definitely be rooting for him to get back home those two plus hours will keep you at the edge of your seat.

Clearly the film revolves around one cast member as it should but with films like gravity, interstellar and now the Martian it’s a little predictable, NASA keeps doing the same thing sending of people to save other people that were left behind and am sure there is an audience that won’t wait two hour plus to see if he makes it back home.
