This is one of the events that is highly anticipated by most of the students at CUEA and word has it a
great crowd from JKUAT Karen also graces the event. Chiles start shopping really early to make sure they
bring their A game to the carnivore grounds. Do they do this to impress the lads or to outdo each other?
I would say to outdo each other but that’s a story for another day.
Their counterparts also make sure they have rides on the day of because let’s face it which girl in a
conveniently short dress and killer heels wants to hop out of a Matatu and hop onto a (for lack of a
better term) nduthi at night?
This year’s event saw Avril perform a number of her hits including the ladies favorite ‘hakuna Yule’.
On the ones and twos were two of Nairobi’s finest deejays: Dj Andre and Dj Lemmy. The talent show
cased on the night was quite something to remember. Obviously there were the not so polishes up
performances but hey we give you an A for effort.
The crowns were taken by Doreen a fourth year law student and Brian a second year Bachelor of
commerce student. To the two we raise a glass and say Kudos!
All that said, word on the street is CUEA has held better pageants in the past! Could the unspeakable be
happening? Is CUEA losing its pomp and flair when it comes to the Mr. and Miss beauty pageants? I’ll let
you be the judge!
