Mr and Miss JKUAT 2016 Rundown

Last Friday night saw Carnivore Grounds light up to vibrant young energy by the youth who attended Mr and Miss JKUAT Karen contest. The event attracted a huge crowd of students, alumni and ardent party goers.

The celebrities who attended were Amina of Capital FM who also acted as the co-emcee.

Kristoff and Gabu wowed the audience, performing songs from back in the day such as “Dendai” to the latest including “Wabe” which is a major club banger, given the reaction of the audience.

“Yego” hit maker Khaligraph Jones who was scheduled to perform failed to make an appearance, and had it not been for the intervention of DJ Joe Mfalme who swiftly summoned Gabu and Kristoff to stand in, the event wouldn’t have been as hyped.

The beauty pageants had a rough time especially from the ladies side. It was quite a challenge for the judges to decide from Especially 3 contestants. The male category had a clear winner from the word go so it was an easy sail.

Eventually, Teresa Njue (@teresa_njue) was crowned Miss JKUAT and frank Kithinji (@frankkithinji_254) carried the title for Mr JKUAT.

New student artistes were introduced to the stage, tagging along their friends, bringing about the feel of belonging and mutual goodwill among the organizers and the students fraternity.

The man of the party was definitely DJ Joe Mfalme who wowed the crowd with crazy mixes from long lost hits while tactfully bringing in new music. From the reception he got, it’s clear this is one man who is sure of what he is doing, and exactly how it’s supposed to be spiced to bring that spark and fuse to the heart of his audience.

The event commenced really late though, as from 11 am there was no MC on stage nor a judge on the panel. Compared to Mr. and Miss Zetech contest held at the same venue a few months ago, the turn up back then was larger. However, the JKUAT contest was more fulfilling in terms of entertainment and action!
