Nairobi Governor Likely To Face Charges Of Misuse Of Office

Nairobi governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko recently suspended the ban on matatu vehicles not reaching the Central Business District. This move was taken after he had listened to the pleas of the Nairobians who complained that the ban was effected without their public opinion.

Matatu CBD Ban

A day after the ban was suspended, a Nairobi city lawyer has gone to the High court to seek to have the Nairobi governor declared unfit to hold public office.

Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko

Mr. Boniface Nyamu said that the Governor has not done anything to ease the congestion of matatus around the central business district and that he has instead ignored other roads that are not in good shape.

The lawyer added that Sonko has not yet met the standard of those who voted for him and that it is and also alleges that the governor has engaged in actions of gross misconduct.

Well, let’s see how the court proceeding will go as we wait to see what alternatives the governor has for his people on the issues on de-congesting the central business district.
