The NASA coalition has been one of the strongest coalitions in the recent times until last Friday when things seemed to take an unexpected turn. The coalition has been on the rocks since the start of January following rumors of betrayal from the inside after its co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka indirectly backed out of the ‘swearing in’ events.
While the recent move by its leader Raila Odinga to settle his feud with his on and off ‘enemy’ President Uhuru Kenyatta may be good to the both of them, it seems to be an advantage to the Jubilee’s side as it shows the former prime minister recognizes Uhuru Kenyatta as the legitimate president, something which leaves his followers and supporters confused and at crossroads.
The other NASA principals openly distanced themselves from the ‘get together’ saying he had made the decision by himself without involving them. Political analysts and even some of the movements members however say the coalition was purposely create to fight for power in the past election something it didn’t achieve therefore, it’s most likely to die and new ones will come up. It’s likely to follow the same path as Cord and TNA and that’s just a normal thing in the political scene.
